Brett Kutnick’s practice emphasizes all aspects of appellate law. He has represented
clients before Texas appellate courts, handled Texas Supreme Court proceedings, and
participated in appeals before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Brett also has
significant experience in interlocutory appeals and mandamus proceedings that frequently
involve complex procedural, jurisdictional, and evidentiary issues.
With his strong business background and business litigation experience, Brett brings substantial
value to business disputes. Brett graduated first in his business school class at the University
of Texas at Austin in 1993. His practice has featured a wide range of business litigation
cases -- both at the trial court level and on appeal -- including cases involving contract
disputes, business torts, legal malpractice, and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
Brett received his JD from the University of Texas School of Law, graduating with high honors
in 1996. He was a member of the Texas Law Review, Chancellors, Order of the Coif, and the Legal
Research Board. Brett received his undergraduate B.B.A. degree in honors business and finance
from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with highest honors in 1993.
